Life and the Universe

Monday, November 24th, 2008

So, I was laying in my rack, contemplating life and the universe, nothing else better to do I guess. I started to think of things I missed about home.

1. My kids, friends and family
2. People who speak English
3. People who don’t look at you like you are always up to something.
4. Children who aren’t terrified of you (maybe it has to do with the buddy I carry)
5. People who shower regularly
6. Civ clothes. (I would kill for a pair of jeans right now).
7. Going for runs in the morning with the greatest two dogs on the planet.
8. Women who have confidence and are allowed to have it.
9. Jack Daniels in one hand, my Gibson B.B. King 80th Birthday Lucille in the other.
10. Walking around barefoot
11. My bike and my truck
12. Real food
13. My bed

Then I started thinking of this blog. I am not a man of a lot of words, so when Bri set it up for me before I deployed, I was wondering what the hell I was going to do with it. I still really don’t know, maybe next time I am in my rack pondering life and the universe, something will turn up.

Before I go, Thanks, Kattie, was nice to get an email from you, and yeah, love the design you created, and yep, I want to use it.

06. Eric Clapton
05. Joe Satriani
04. Stevie Ray Vaughn
03. Muddy Waters
02. Buddy Guy
01. B.B. King tied with Johnny Winter

Honorable Mentions:
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Nick Perri (This kid can play, I believe he’s 24 currently, but kid sounds like he has been playing for 50 years. At this rate he will be ranked up there with guys like in my top 10 in no time. If you do not know who he is, check out the current lineup of Shine Down, or hit you tube and look up videos for Silver Tide.)
Joe Perry
Jeff Healy
John Mayer
Duane Eddy
Lita Ford
Dave Mustaine
Nils Lofgren
Richie Sambora
Slash
George Lynch (the fact that he couldn’t read music is either a show of how good he was, or how good he could have been…)
Billy Gibbons
Joe Bonamassa
Syn Gates (another young one, but given his talent right now, he’s destined for greatness.)

Of Illegal Elections and Men-Interesting post by Handy Candy

Friday, November 7th, 2008

This is a well thought out informative post by Handy Candy.  Valid points and an agreeable call out to our government to uphold our constitution.   Take a look at it.  I happen to agree with every point she has made.
